I actually think it’s detrimental to release too much upfront. Sure, it’s important to cater to your current followers. However, when you start making more community content... there’s inherently more outreach. There’s a time and place for that imho. And I don’t think the pre-alpha is it unfortunately. The game is going to take 2+ years to make (and that’s on the current plan). The Kickstarter was merely a year ago (not even).
Too much upfront is not what I am asking. There is that middle road between too much and none.
I understand that human resources might been one of the problems, but I see pre-alpha time also important, because during that time you keep the current community sticked with the product and same time you market your game for new players. More marketing, more players for alpha 1. Simple business.
I can see Fractured Youtube channel one of the problems. They started upload videos about 10 months ago. There is total of 9 videos and 2-3 came out inside one month. Good start.. BUT, the last video is over 7 month old already. What happened there? Its hard to keep people follow the channel that inactive or speaking of getting any new ones.

Anyway, I would also forget idea of profession focused races and I would leave that part purely for character progression. So those players who want to focus on professions, they can use points to attributes and abilitites which give them best benefits. Maybe on top of that they can craft items and wear gear, which gives them bonuses for gathering for example. So I would leave that freedom of choise to players also after character creation. I am not a huge fan of current state of beastmen either, because those are partly locked to play certain roles. I can live that, because most likely my main will be human, but still it takes something off from the base idea of sandbox.. imo ofc.
