    • RE: Skeletons

First question what this suggestion pop up my mind was; How skeletons as playable race suits to world of Fractured?

Skeletons are less used as playable race in MMORPGs or maybe not used at all, I dont know for sure. However, there is Undead e.g. in WoW, which is almost a same thing.. but in otherhand also different. Undeads in general can be considered to have some brain activity, but skeletons goes more to category brainless monsters. Now this point makes me hard to see skeleton as playable race. Still I understand if other people thinks opposite.

More important in this matter is, where you place skeletons in this world? In Fractured we have this alignment system, and I was wondering how skeleton can be lawful or good, and how this can be implemented at least somehow reasonable and believeable way?

    • RE: Will zergs rule the open world?

@Genobee With that suggestion of scaling karma point loss I aimed for "fair" PvP or at least to promote this. It is of course a different thing if this "fair" PvP is wanted to happen at first place. But yeah, I am not sure if this kind of feature could cause some problems or if it can be abused somehow. Also that karma point differency does not need to be huge and slight differencies would most certainly be enough. Anyhow, I am also interested to know what is devs intrests related for zerging and anti-zerging mechanics, and what they have already in their mind.

@Kralith Yeah I agree. Still I hope devs will be more active as well and not just rely on players to do all the marketing and word spreading after Alpha 1 launches. Official content update videos are good way to promote your product. 😉

    • RE: Will there be fast traveling?

What it comes to fast travel options, I hope we will see more carriages and harbours with ship routes rather than portals. Makes the world more believeable that way. Portals are of course fine when traveling between planets, but somehow stupid and easy solutions when speaking traveling inside continent.

@Eurav I understand your point, but still new members are registering daily referring to 'Welcome to Fractured' forum section. So even old members are passive I would like to see more posts and conversations from newcomers. However, I guess this inactivity is result of few reasons. Passive community, lack of new information from devs behalf and wait of Alpha 1.

    • RE: Guild Attire Rewards

Adding some kind of guild progression and reward system has its place for sure, but its important to keep rewards more like cosmetics rather than give gameplay advantages.

I dont see any problem to different achievements to give different rewards. That would give guilds acknowledgement of things that mirror their indentity and gameplay. That is only fair. On top of that there can be some general achievements and rewards where guilds can collect experience from different activities.

Guild logo is important thing to identify guilds' indentity. This logo can then be used in tabards, flags, shields, caparisons and such. That is why I hope Fractured will offer us good tools for this feature. There should be basic tool set for every guild, and guilds can wider this set with accomplishments. One option is also to offer totally unique tools for most dedicated guilds, which will help Dynymight Studious to create a better game with solid pre-launch testing and constructive feedback.

    • RE: Developer updates regarding game status?

@Eurav said in Developer updates regarding game status?:

I think we should also consider the possibility of people who are invited not playing the Pre - Alpha, since the only way to get into the top 100 (apart from having a lot of friends) is to have been involved in the Forum for multiple Months ( I guess at least ~8 Months). Back when I joined (in November 2018) the Forum was "more dead" than now (almost every post was at least 3 Months old), so most people of the top 100 might not even be following / interested in the game anymore.

When I joined spring 2018, back then these forums were quite active and I presume it continued like this through the whole summer. I just came back here and I am quite suprised how quiet these forums are. People are not discussing about anything which personally worries me a bit. Have players lost their interests or are they waiting for start of Alpha 1 to get more information about the game?

    • RE: Will zergs rule the open world?

@Crowdac I guess you are right. Lets say that third option could be relevant if other anti-zerging mechanics are not helping enough prevent zergs to dominate the lands of Syndesia.

    • RE: Spell crafting

@Meiki Yeah I guess something like that. I would use these as example what I had in my mind:

      • Lets say a "Cribling Strike" ability deals some damage and contains also a slow effect. Maybe some kind of big hammer changes that slow to stun. That way you could create new interesting combos, which also makes sense.

      • For your idea of "Chest of the Ice Queen" I have another example. If that Frost Cone ability normally chills and slows the target for few seconds. Maybe this Chest will replace that slow CC with chill shield which is cast on you, and if enemy hits you when you are shielded, then they will be slowed down.

So in my suggestion your core idea is just made inside lighter system, which could be easier to implement without breaking what devs had in their mind from the beginning. This was just brainstorming and nothing so much planned beforehand. 😉

    • RE: Spell crafting

If spell crafting wont be a thing in Fractured, could there still be some lighter system to spice up things a lil bit more? I was thinking, what if some weapons, armors and items could augment your abilities and that way give more variations? That way gear wont be just stats and will matter more in horizontal point of view. The core mechanics of abilitites should not change and these augments could only cause minor modifications.

    • RE: Funding

@Prometheus I agree that lifting NDA and start of Alpha 1 will help with marketing a lot. However, I suggest Dynamight Studious on top of that to be more active with own videos and upload those in your youtube and Twitch channels more often. Releasing official content information is something players are really interested with and that will also give you more followers and that way more backers. Not every video needs to be long with massive content, you could introduce just one feature at the time, and that way keep community and followers keen to your product. 😉

    • RE: SOrry just found this out Will package upgrades be available?

So if you are talking about basic pledge packs, yes you can upgrade those like @FallenW1ng mentioned. However, there is limited number of Early Bird possibilities, which can effect a little bit to that upgrade price. 😉

    • RE: Will zergs rule the open world?

@Pluto Hmmm.. So you referred to friendly fire? I think I saw somewhere, that this feature exists in Fractured. That is one way to prevent zerging for sure and can lead battles to quite messy and chaotic. Friendly fire is interesting and nice feature, but also causes some problems.

There is of course different kind of options prevent zerging, if zerging is wanted to prevent at first place. I presume this would be the case in Syndesia where is some law to protect players in open world, but Tartaros can easily be area where is not suppossed to be any kind of anti-zerging mechanics. I kind of understand that, but its still something which can hurt solo or small scale PvP in Tartaros. However, maybe there is not just one best solution and this matter needs to be compromised somehow. Next I will intoroduce some ideas and options how anti-zerging can be prevented.

      • Zergs could be shown on minimap as dots to players who are at same area/zone.

      • There could simply be pop up warning text or sign when zerg approaches.

      • Players could loose more reputation/karma points when they outnumbers their enemies. Scaling like in situation 3v1 all three gets more penalty than in 1v1 situation. This also gets worse if you e.g. 10v1 someone. This could also work other way so if you win from underdog situation (e.g. 3v5) you get less loss. I could see this as option in Syndesia, but maybe not in Tartaros where is lo law to protect players.

      • This last one is my personal favorite, because I was trying to think it from Fractured point of view. Because we have this perception attribute, maybe that would somehow help us to notice zergs from distance? Maybe you could actually hear (like in real life) when zerg is approaching. How far? Depending size of zerg and your perception level. Moreover, there is also skills under perception so maybe you could unlock some anti-zerging abilities from there? I think that would be really nice.

    • RE: Will zergs rule the open world?

@Jetah Well where we need new post if we should always search the old ones? If you want to go that road, then you can answer that same line to almost every new post for upcoming few years, and end every conversation before those even started. Moreover, these forums seams to be quite quiet so it does not matter much if some topics are discussed several times. In most cases those conversations have own flavor, direction and contain new point of views. Also when game advances it unlocks new information related to old aspects of game and only that will make same old topics somehow different.

    • Will zergs rule the open world?

Have there been any discussions, that what kind of role or influence zergs will have in Fractured?

I am personally huge fan of open world PvP group fights, but still more like small or medium scale than large zerg fights. Okay I admit, that sometimes massive ZvZ battles can be epic, but not something I like to see all the time.

So I was wondering, that will Fractured also support small scale PvP or will zergs rule the lands? So are we going to see some kind of anti-zerging mechanics or not? And if we are, what kind of and how those will be implemented?

We could speculate, that in Syndesia there could be some restrictions, but what about Tartaros, totally free PvP?

    • RE: Will Fractured upgrade on what Albion Online did

@Pluto I dont see how you eliminate p2w with this token method. In Albion it does not make much different even you can buy premium time with ingame currency, still those who use real money will progress faster in most cases, because they dont have to use time to make ingame currency or tradeable goods to get premium time. Token system is better than nothing for sure, but still does not automatically solve the whole problem. Maybe more like dilutes it.

I dont say Fractured will be p2w, because we dont even know what exactly will be in premium package. It depends a lot how much knowledge and study slot parts gives bonus and how huge actually will be the impact. We will see..

I am actually waiting to see more of the combat and I dont think it will be dull either. Even it would be little bit slower paced, it will be more strategy and skill based. You need to focus on aiming, dodging, timing and use environment as advantage. I love that.

I have been focused on negative parts of Albion and maybe next I bring up those good things what Albion has done right or at least tried. I dont have the latest news what @Vortech mentioned and maybe I will revisit in Albion just to see what it looks like nowadays and maybe test out some new features. However, I know the core mistakes and design problems are still there why I cant see myself playing AO for daily basis.

    • It seams I have forgot to introduce myself

      Hi everybody!

I am Tuoni and I have actually registered almost a year ago, but totally forgot to introduce myself. I have been away for a long time, but now when we are soon going to see more content and mechanics related to Fractured, I wanted to come back and see what is the situation.

I am personally interested of MMORPGs and especially more about sandbox games than themepark ones. I have played in past OS Runescape, WoW, TERA, Albion Online and tested several others. I love theorycrafting, gamedesinging and testing. I am also interested equally of PvE and PvP and I want to test out every race possibilities in this unique system what Fractured seams to offer.
