I just want freedom. Freedom in the direction I take, freedom in how I build my class, freedom in how I tackle a quest. The less it is on rails, the better. That doesn't mean I don't play games that are on rails like WoW, but in the end I like sandboxes the most. The only reason why I don't play many sandboxes is because of the grindyness and forced PvP with hardcore elements like full loot. If Fractured manages to break that trend with for example the knowledge system and the beastmen planet, there's a decent chance I will enjoy this game. I need a lot more information to be sure, though.

I love lore. It is so very important for immersion. Sometimes I read the stories of games I don't play at all. Judging by the stories in the spotlight about the races, the devs certainly haven't forgotten about this. I can't wait to see what else they have in store.

I found Fractured through MassivelyOP. At first I didn't think too much about it but after a while I decided to check it anyway. The fact that it's a sandbox where we can avoid most PvP if we want is what drew me in and kept me here.

Well, Prometheus said earlier in this thread monsters mostly drop crafting resources and currency. I don't think they will be dropping potions unless we use potions as a currency or crafting material.

There will be open world dungeons.
Well, Tartaros is a lawless PvP planet and the human planet has full PvP aswell, but with laws in place that you can break. We also know we lose our stuff when we die so I assume that yes, you will risk your stuff. The Beastmen world is most PvE-like. PvP can happen there too but it's apparently very hard for a PvPer because the whole environment supposedly turns against the PvPer.

@vengu I think they further it. Not only you are in control of the events like in EVE, lore itself is to be gathered. And gathering lore pieces gives you knowledge of different spells and abilities. Also it grants mere knowledge of game world in general. So first part is for the character to advance (similar to XP), second for player to know things around the game.
At least how I understood it, but they neither confirmed nor denied this. They just said 'no XP, lore will be very improtant and to be discovered, game is a lot about exploration'.
The devs should make the knowledge system like the Tome of Knowledge from Warhammer Online then. That was a very cool feature that we haven't really seen in other games. It would fit the knowledge system perfectly.
