    • RE: new here any advice

@Dman1188 The game definitely has a learning curve.

Don't be in too big of a hurry to get a horse or a house.
Run around and gather (everything you find has use) and get familiar with the basics.

Check out the market in a player run town, find out what sells or what orders exist and fill some of those to raise gold. I made most of my money just selling hides/leather or other things I found.

Start with green ?s on the map and check out those locations. They earn you experience points to gain rank - in this game exploration, gathering, killing new monsters to 100% is worthwhile. Even a fox drops a tail now and again that can get you a few hundred gold in the market.

    • How to maximize my mage damage?

      For Cryomancer:

      • I have the imbues.

      • I have the moonsteel armor and scimitar.

What are other steps I can do to make this build a glass cannon in PvE?
I don't know much about the other options and imbues I have available.

As long as I can imbue I don't mind the low drop rate for rewards as it provides a very long term goal.

    • RE: Totems need to get fixed fast or im out of here

For me the main purpose of a totem is to take the initial big hits from MOBs.
When it comes to trolls and ogres, the build matters more than a totem (IMHO).

If you imbue out a nice set with pyro, it is pretty easy to burn down elder trolls.
If you imbue out a nice set with cryo, orges can be nearly permanently frozen. Group recommended.

For use of the totem, it can be tricky but it can be worked around - especially if you can take aggro from the totem before it goes down.

While not ideal perhaps, using the totem to take the big hits up front can be a big help. In graveyards I use it to group mobs for AoEs. It is very useful.

Until a fix is in place:
You can always retrieve the cart by allowing yourself to be killed. You get a few seconds of immunity when you get back up and it is enough time to mount, attach the cart, and flee the area.

    • RE: Dear Red Players

      Greetings:

I'm not sure if it is a bug on my end, or on ya'lls end, but several of the forms submitted seem to have important information replaced by *********.

      An example:

*I pledge to shove your offer of peace up your *****. Once there I'll take my ****** and ***** your ******. Hope too see your ****** ******, ****** in game.

I'll see if I can get the team to troubleshoot this distressing issue.
      Please be patient.

    • RE: Dear Red Players

I wanted to thank the community for the overwhelming response to my trail blazing offer.
I've hired some support staff to help me work through some of the applications.

@Cowboys: While I appreciate the initiative of submitting one form for the entire guild, I'm afraid regulations require each member to submit a statement of peace. Additionally, just to be clear - I didn't call for your unconditional surrender - so I must reject your plea - this is only a request to acknowledge my right to exist in Aerhen and to not attack me. You may continue to hunt new players at the goblins.

    • Dear Red Players

      Greetings:

I'm heading over to Aerhen for some good times which doesn't include getting murdered and having all my stuff taken. I don't blame you for misunderstanding, after all, it someone is in Aerhen it may appear they're interested in a bit of 'action'; hence, the need for this post. Clear communication is really the best approach.

If you're a red I'd appreciate it if you'd read this and sign it:

I, [insert name here], solemly pledge to not murder Wargfoot's character and take his stuff. Additionally, I pledge to leave him alone while he's farming, hunting, or standing around town running his mouth about nothing important. While I'm normally a cold blooded killer I do appreciate Wargfoot's right to exist and will honor this request for a 'safe space'.

      Yours truly,
      [sign here]

Once the forms are submitted, I expect it to take 24-48hrs. to process.
Thank you for making the Fractured Community great.

      -Wargfoot (aka Tuck).

@spoletta said in Proposals for Incarcerated Evil Players and City Jails:

@Wargfoot Increasing it in highly contested areas does not really increase them overall.
You have to consider that players are necessarily less pve efficient in those areas compared to simply slaying ogres on Terra, so those higher % would just make slightly better than ogres. Right now with 25% you are better of with ogres, even if you meet absolutely no resistance at jotuns.

I appreciate the great care that is being put into these changes. There have been a few times where I've thought something unbalanced or odd only to find out with experience it works well. Keep going.

I'd take care with divine rewards.
Too many dropped will flood the market and eliminate a long term goal.

I'd love to have mine though....

    • RE: Getting Started Soon

@Ransel The VIP perks are not available yet (early access). That said, it is pretty easy to get a mount in game. You should be able to pick one up at a market for 100gp or less.

Beginner advice: (from my limited experience)

      • Don't worry about getting a mount or a house. You need to do quite a bit of gathering of materials and taking a horse everywhere just inhibits that. You don't need a house right away either - you need skills. No need to buy a house until you've had a chance to look around.

      • Start in Aerhen and farm green ?'s first (on the map) and then yellow. Burn through your 40hrs. of protected status getting everything you can from Aerhen.

      • Items you pick up from the ground can sell well on the market. Check out a market in any player run city and find out what people are requesting and what they're paying for items. I make most of my cash this way.

    • RE: Deleting Loot as you get ganked...Bug?

      @Esoba

@Esoba said in Deleting Loot as you get ganked...Bug?:

Well truth be told, gankers who just go after someone minding their own business deserve nothing. I happily delete my inventory if it happens and if they take away my ability to do I just won't pick anything up. Punishments for reds isn't nearly severe enough, and quite honestly gankers bring no value to any game and end up just pushing people away. So, any ability to minimize the gain they get is a win win in my book.

I hope you don't think I'm being dismissive.

There is an entire science behind minimizing ganker gains that goes beyond deleting inventory. There is a science to learning how to get items out of Aerhen safely. Only wearing stuff you can easily make, knowing what roads to take, knowing when to take those roads, building alliances, setting up forward bases, and being smart about how you move resources. There is some thought that has to be put into the game because the enemy isn't a stupid AI but another human being - dumb human beings, knuckle dragging dullards, but human in the academic sense of the word.

      Don't be frustrated.
      Outsmart them.

      I understand this perspective.
I'm not a ganker, I'm one of the victims. 🙂

That said, the people who get "pushed away" are those that didn't read the box. Reds are an important part of the design of this game. Furthermore, reds provide content for sheriffs and other PvP activity. I don't like getting ganked and having my stuff taken but I do enjoy the drama of visiting Aerhen from time to time. The other day I made it out with a load of Shadium and I felt like I was robbing Ft. Knox.

A person doesn't have to go to Aerhen. Anything available there can be bought in a market (this is intended), and if you need skills you can wear throw away armor, farm goblins, and leave.

It is a PvP game (fighting, resource acquisition, markets, etc) at its core.
At some point people need to take responsibility for what they purchase.

I'm not a red but I want a few around.

    • Good PvP Defensive Build

I need to journey over to the land of psychopaths and sadness. I'm not really a twitch monkey, so the best I can hope for is a build that allows me to PvE but also allows for escape. Do any reds care to share some builds that are effective?

      Must have abilities?

I get the impression the developers don't want it to happen; will likely patch it in the future, but it isn't really an exploit or cheating.
