      Welcome to the community!!
It's pretty friendly and if you ever have any questions, you should be able to find the answers on the forums or in the fractured discord. People will gladly answer anything you might want to know.

and yes... this definately completed your quest for posting on the forums. It's a daily task though. If you post meaningful content though, you can get rewarded with bonus points for your foundation rewards!!

    • RE: Are guilds world specific.

@Ostaff to be fair... there is only 1 race... so saying that guilds is race bound is pointless. If with these PvP tests just rescently, even alignment didn't matter... then guilds have no limitations at all, realistically.

@Ostaff Oh, interesting 😮 I guess it doesn't change much for me... but that's pretty neat for others still working on getting points ^c^

    • RE: End game?

      @WaterMerchant said in End game?:

In one of the summaries of the developer q&a's it was said, "The difference between primitive equipment and advanced equipment is not so big. Power gaps are in general quite small". It makes me wonder what the end game is suppose to be exactly, if a wooden club is going to be more or less equal to a steel mace why even bother to progress or even gain these items?

I completely didn't answer your question in my info post/ramble. The point in upgrading your gear at the end is supposed to be to specialise in killing something specific. Your gear at first will be very generalised, so you will take a descent amount of damage from pretty much everything. in the 'end-game', fighting fire shamans for example, you can cap out your fire restsance (1000 last test i played, reducing fire damage taken by 79% i think it was) and make the fights an absolute joke. Whereas, running in unprepared, you can very easily get taken out in a few hits or even a single hit if you have negative fire resist and low hp (or even just very low hp). Fighting Spider Liches, you can cap your frost resist. Fighting wolves, you can cap your armour, etc. etc.

To add to this... using different weapons and skills on enemies will have various effectiveness. You shouldn't use just swords and only swords for the entirety of your playthough. There are enemies that resist slash dammage immensely and others that are immune. For example, wisps can only be hit by weapons that can hit incorporeal enemie, or by magic spells. Most (if not all) spiders have either negative or really low fire resistance). Skeletons have immense pierce resistance, and so on.

    • RE: End game?

ye... there's a disappointing amount of vertical progression. but, if it wasn't there, i suppose there wouldn't be much of a game to play. Once a player reaches 'end game' with all the KP (Knowledge Points) and starts crafting fantastical hyper-specific gear, it will end up being balanced and 'horizontal' between players, as of there being a solid cap.

That said though... depending on how a player places their points, they could have a major advantage or a major disadvantage over others to begin with. Say, someone like myself going full hardcore and having only 6 in every stat... it's literally impossible to reach stat caps in a state like that XD

most of the time, i hyper focus for crit bow builds, meaning i have low hp, defence and memory to learn skills. Even if i spec into survivability, the chance of beating someone hyper specced into being a brute tank is near on impossible for me to win. However, i would have a pretty descent advantage over mages. There is give and take in everything. I plan to be a hunter/gatherer, so that's what i have min/maxed to do 🙂

@Ostaff said in Are guilds world specific.:

      @Jignutz

Yes, I do. It is the way the game is currently implemented. Create a new account, go to "Create Guild" and you will see that the race is set to your hero profile's selected race. Within the last alpha test, we were able to have guild members of all alignments, therefore guilds are not alignment restricted.

A major flaw of this comment is that the guilds on the website have nothing to do with the guilds in-game. It is only there for pre-planning.

From what I understand, Guilds are planned to be only alignment restricted. Humans can join both beastfolk or demon guilds, if they have the right alignment. The website and only the website will have the race restrictions, even if only temporarily. If a player wants to start as a demon and become an angel, they then too can become a member of a beastfolk guild if they wish. Same for abominations joining evil guilds.

    • RE: Daily Quest Issue

@Ndtm do you still need any points? the foundation isn't planned to be around for much longer anyways... so I doubt it';s worth the effort of the devs to fix a potential minor bug.

    • RE: The value of Information

@Mirgannel12 you made a comment about trade and 1 message is all it takes, what's the point? The point is... the game is so fcking HUGE... I doubt anyone wants to travel 5h searching for the POSSIBILITY of finding what they are after... and potential going back home empty handed, when it would have been faster to travel to whatever drops it and getting it themselves, even if in bulk. It would destroy the economy of the game if people didn't have a way to communicate to find reagents they are after (heavy materials are easy, with the trading post available ~ but not everyone will be looking for only heavy materials)

    • Enemies hitting, even when high evasion.

It seems that either enemies with an accuracy of 240 OR enemies with the Bleeding Strike skill, like Dire wolves and Splinterlings, have a guaranteed chance to hit. I have stacked up 785 evasion and 1000 luck, and they literally never miss their attacks. Yes, their skill is guaranteed to hit... but their basic attacks that follow it, shouldn't be.

I don't know if it is a special bear meat, from a legend that we just killed, but there is a lone bear meat that the tavern won't let me cook for whatever reason.

    • RE: Bug: Damage Bonus Shenanigans

On top of this, the damage you deal, is affected. I was getting the bow damage bonus on my quarterstaff earlier, instead of my bow.
      Damage6.jpg
I should have realised this issue earlier, when i was dealing almost as much damage with my quarterstaff as i was with my bow, despite having no perks to melee damage and less than half of my perception stat, in strength. (22 perception and 10 strength)

    • Bug: Damage Bonus Shenanigans

after resting, the game tells me I have +92% dmg with bows, after all my bonuses from gear, enchants and talent points.
      Damage1.jpg
      Damage2.jpg

After clicking tab, to my first unarmed slot, it thinks i am still using a bow, and shows me my talent bonus from bows:
      Damage3.jpg

Clicking tab twice more, getting back to the bow, it shows me a different number to my actual damage. This number will change based on where you have talents. Even if different talent presets have the same damage bonuses, they will show a different number in the inventory:
      Damage4.jpg

Clicking tab a few more times, will break it even more:
      Damage5.jpg

The only way to get back to the damage you should be dealing, is by resting at a tavern or fireplace again. While having your bow selected.

    • RE: [FRAC-2302] can't use skills coz no reasons at all?

Here is a typical archery skill that you should be able to use any type of bow:
      skill show.jpg

Here is a skill with a weapon weight requirement. I cannot use a Longbow with this, only a primitve bow or a shortbow:

@baaldas said in [FRAC-2302] can't use skills coz no reasons at all?:

Man relax, you are using HEAVY longbow, your skills requires MEDIUM or LIGHT bow.
@Xzait said in [FRAC-2302] can't use skills coz no reasons at all?:

I try to find and usually post tonnes of bugs in the alphas i get to play. but this has just killed the alpha for me... I log in and run around for 5 mins before i log off, coz i can't use the skills i worked hard to get... and there has even been a patch since i posted the bug, where it wasn't fixed.

The weight of the weapon doesn't matter for most bow skills. the light/medium requirements is in the armour, not the weapon class. I will send a screenshot as proof. Also, looking at my initial screenshot, the game is saying I am wearing heavy armour specifically, despite not having any armour equipped at all. If i try to use stealth with a heavy longbow (which i don't have this test), it will tell me that i am using a heavy weapon, as you can only use medium weight weapons with it.

What do you think players would do if it was magic skills that had this issue? something like probably 40%of players use... They literally wouldn't be able to play their characters.
