    • RE: 💡 Suggestion | In game | Repair system/mechanincs

As much as this was an old topic, I don't see the point in making a new one. In terms of repairing gear, yes, I believe gold should be neccissary to an extent. I believe resources should also be neccissary, to an extent. My suggestion is to have a base gold fee to repair, then on top of that, have specific materials required to repair specific gear at a rate of say 50%. INCLUDING the enchantments on said gear.

For example, a basic Wolf Teeth necklace might need 3 Wolf Teeth or 2 Wolf Teeth and 1 Rope to be repaired. If it has a Tier 2 Dex enchant, it might need an extra 1 Honeynail Mushrooms, a Primordial Dust and a Nightshade Berries on top of that! For a Tier 1 Perception, it might only need 1 Antlers. So each piece of equipment has a rss cost, but also, each enchantment has a set rss cost as well, for balancing.

Then a repairer can charge an extra fee on top if anyone does choose to charge others for gear repairs. This can be a base repair cost + the repairer players set price on each rss they, themselves are supplying to repair the person's item.

I personally don't like the idea of a drop-off system, with repairs becoming gradually less effective, as much as in reality, it does make sense. A lot of things even in-game already aren't made to be realistic though, which we all need to remember. Like how you now get 200 arrows somehow with only 5 sticks. Realistically, you'd only get at very best 5... or realistically 0, coz sticks don't grow straight and you can't simply bend them straight like you do in-game with your hands somehow.

    • Why so many plant fibres?

I remember back in Alpha 1 Test 2, you only got Plant Fibres from Flax bushes and it was bloody wonderful. Now, in Alpha 2 Test 3 (and even Alpha 1 Test 1 if i remember right), you get Plant Fibres from about 2/3 of the 'Small Plants' found around the world of Fractured (currently only Myr). Considering, at best, you need only 2 Ropes (2 Fibres) for a weapon, and maybe need a stack of 100 bandages (5 Linen Weaves or 10 Fibres) every day or two, why do we need so many Fibres? Sure, you need some for a bed, but that is a once off. It isn't hard to find a Flax Bush, because they are littered everywhere. Not to mention, you get around 4 Fibres from a single Flax Bush harvest!!

This is the results after a single gathering session:
      plant fibre bullcrap.jpg
The row of plant fibres seperates the items that didn't give plant fibre, to those that did.

Now with enchanting in the mix, you may find you need to gather say 5 Nightshade Berries to enchant for all of your pieces of gear. In gathering these, you got 7 Plant Fibres. Then you need 3 Milkweed and 4 Lavendar, and 6 Bloodveins. Adding them on, you now have like 23 Plant Fibres. Now you have all the materials to enchant all of your gear that will last u till they break in say, 3 days coz u fight alot. But you also have enough Plant Fibre for a week? and you didn't even gather any flax Bushes...

Why even have Flax Bushes anymore if you get double to tripple to even ten times the amount of Plant Fibres that you need... without gathering a single one!?!? I got basically 10.5 stacks Plant Fibres without gathering a single Flax Bush and only got, in effect, 7 stacks of useful items I was actually after. Why?

    • RE: Denied Nightshade Berries

Upon further testing, I can run away from the bush even with up to ~5% of the bar incomplete and it will still pick the bush, despite me running before the bar is full. So I am guessing that this is an uncommon bug. Or the unfortunate truth is that it is Possible to get 0 berries from a bush after picking it clean, with 4 berries clearly visible before I laid my hands on it.

@Xzait forgot to mention that, added!

One thing I feel I must say, for you to update as a result of the new arrow recipe giving 200 instead of 100, is that the weight of arrow heads and arrow shafts should be changed, or arrows should weigh half as much. Because of the new update, making arrows increases your held weight, instead of decreases it, which makes no sense!!

    • Denied Nightshade Berries

Clicking away from a Nightshade Berry Bush on the same frame as it completes (or maybe even the frame before +latency?) gathering will deny you the Nightshade Berries and only give you plant Fibres. It is either that, or I got a drop of 0 Nightshade Berries, which would be complete bullshit, coz i saw black berried specifically on the bush... and like 4 of them? How are we only getting like 1 or sometimes 2 berries per bush? If a 0 Nightshade Drop is possible... well, it shouldn't be...

P.S. I personally don't like how you get plant fibres from almost all of the small plants now, instead of only flax bushes. I now find myself deleting hundreds of full stacks of plant fibres that i never wanted to collect in the first place, due to the fact that i gather alot.

What about the thing with arrows crafting 200 now instead of 100? that is new. (I personally don't like it, but surely some players will)

@th3mistocles If you build someone else's handcart, you are not able to use it. They keep ownership of the blueprint.

    • RE: Death Penalty of losing all gear and inventory: WORST IDEA EVER!!!

@SmithyJones As much as you said you didn't want any tips or anything... if you carry around a few pebbles and twigs to make a campfire, dying should be near impossible. If your hp gets low, rest up... don't sit on 1 hp for even a mere 20 mins, just coz it isn't killing u then. This game is all about preparation. Gear is supposed to be disposable. Just make sure that you store at least 1 more item than you consume out of your chests each time you do die. If gear wasn't disposable, horizontal progression wouldn't keep you entertained very long.

I play an archer, so 70% of my inventory literally is disposable... coz it is arrows and hp potions that are consumable. Forever being replaced.

    • RE: Crafted armour

In Alpha 2 Test 3, I am inclined to believe this is still the case. I have a bow with +150% durability, but it seems to have lasted fewer arrows than any other bow i have used. It was at 100% before I entered the Vale of Shadows, heading off with just shy of 2000 arrows. I am now down to 28% durability and i still have around 800 arrows left. I have probably gained this many arrows while I have been here, so it is safe to say I have used around 2k arrows. I am pretty sure that ALL of my other bos have used around 3k arrows before they died, each AT LEAST!!. Is this a bug, or was durability implemented as an idea, and not actually implemented as a mechanic?

    • Goblin Archer Arrows 0% Durability

The arrows that the Goblin Archers drop have 0% Durability and when stacked with the arrows you have, you arrows become 0% Durability. You can still shoot with your bow just fine though it seems.

    • Unable to hit a Deer

It is as if the creature doesn't exist. I can target it, but shooting arrows at it or punching it with my hammer does nothing. I saw this with a goblin trapper nowhere near the goblin Hills too!

@Xzait Have you tried you same ingredient more times or just using 4 ingredients to limit number of options enchanting table gives you?

on Tier 2 dex, the best u can get it down to is randomising between 2 potential outcomes. You cannot possibly get it down to just 1 outcome. I was chatting with someone about it previously in this very thread. There is no possible guarantee recipe for +2 dex.

@GorTavaro That didn't help in the slightest. Look at my screenshots, I was aiming for a tier 2, but in the process it lit up 4 other potential things. Tier 2, not Tier 1. It IS random, when you have more than 1 possible outcome.
